Sri CHITTURI JAGAPATI RAO, was born and brought up in a farmers’ family in the village Kulla of East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. He obtained Master’s Degree in International Relations from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
His foray into business was setting up a humble poultry farm way back in the year 1965 in Uppal, Hyderabad. His farsightedness bears testimony to the fact that he has envisioned a great future for the poultry industry in India which was considered to be an insignificant backyard activity then. Sri Jagapati Rao came into contact with Padmashree Dr.B.Vasudev Rao (Dr.B.V.Rao), and became one of the founder- directors of Venkateshwara Hatcheries Group in 1971 .Together they made Venkateshwara Hatcheries a very prosperous and technologically advanced poultry conglomerate in Asia. Sri C Jagapati Rao has over five decades of rich experience in all the facets of Poultry Industry. In the year 1978 Srinivasa Hatcheries was set up as a franchisee of the Venkateshwara Hatcheries Group for the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. The company had a modest beginning of 10,000 Layer parents in 1978 and has grown to a stage of 4, 40,000 layer parents and 3, 00,000 broiler parents in the recent times. His pioneering dynamism and able stewardship have resulted in steady increase in the group’s turnover and profitability consistently over the years. Sri Jagapati Rao is on the board of companies as Chairman of Srinivasa Farms -carrying on poultry business and is involved in various capacities of poultry related associations like National Egg Co-ordination Committee (NECC).
