Kushal Desai is currently Managing Director of Apar Industries Ltd. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering and a Business degree from the Wharton School, both of which are part of University of Pennsylvania.
Kushal Desai was the Managing Director of GE Lighting in India and held various positions with Apar’s Lighting business and General Electric from 1989 till 1996, before assuming the current position. He was also associated with Apar Infotech, a system integration software company, which he co-founded in 1997 and actively worked with till 2004. Apar Infotech was operating in 13 countries around the world and listed on NASDAQ in September 2004. Besides Apar Infotech, Kushal has been in-charge of the Specialty Oil business from 1997 onwards. He has been associated with ELCOMA and IEEMA, leading industry bodies in their respective fields in various capacities in the past.
